Last week over here at EDO, we had an event to celebrate our 5th year in business! The day went off just as planned with Subarus, Mitsubishis, Nissans, Toyotas and more from all over the So-Cal area.

The highlight of the event was an open invitation car show for cars of all makes and models. We had all sorts of cars show up! Here are a few pictures of some of the hot cars in the show!

There were two winners for the car show. One for “EDO’s Choice” and one for “Crowd Favorite”. The winner for the EDO’s Choice award was Mike McGuiness and his 2004 Subaru WRX Wagon and the Crowd Favorite award went to David Chavez for his 2007 Subaru WRX-TR. Both car show winners received a Defi gauge package and a trophy as a prize.

Here is Mike’s 2004 WRX Wagon!

And here’s David’s 2007 WRX-TR

Tomei Powered, Zero/Sports, and Motul were here with displays and demonstrations. Chimera performance even flew all the way out from Andover Minnesota to offer their porting and polishing services.

There was even an hourly raffle, containing lots of prizes donated by many vendors including Zero/Sports, Works, Chimera Performance, South Coast Subaru, D-Wolf, Subie Sport, Motul and many more. The grand prize for the raffle was a brand new set of Defi Gauges, won by Joseph Cruz.
We we’re grilling it up with burgers, dogs, chips and soda for everyone in attendance.

Overall this event was a great success and will not be the last! Stay tuned in the future for more awesome meets, events and shows here at EDO Performance!

Hey guys and gals!
I do apologize for the lack of Day 2, 3, and 4 recaps, but I figured I’d save up all those updates into one gynormous Weekend Recap update! Yay!
Day 2
We had a car sit on the dyno overnight due to a wheel bearing failure, and transmission/differential fluid changes. So I took care of changing out the fluids, and then we took the car off the dyno so that the wheel bearing could get replaced.

So as that car was getting worked out, we moved a car up a few spots and began tuning the Tomei ARMS M-7760 EJ20 Project Car!

I will cover the full details of this project very soon, along with dyno graphs and comparisons.
Next up on the list is Ryan and his Evo 9 MR! First things first, this car is just sick! Very tastefully done on the exterior, and conservative on the engine mods!

The dyno results: 299.5 AWHP and 265.7 ft/lb of torque!

We then placed Mike’s car back on the dyno for the tune, but it turns out the differentials were shot! No bueno!
Day 3
We started off the day tuning our new 2008 STi!

The car is completely stock, but we decided to tune her up to Stage 1 via TurboXS Utec, and we yielded finished up at 281.1AWHP and 314.5 ft/lb of torque!

Next on the list, Steven’s EVO 8, which had some prior camshaft, valve springs/retainers work done right before the tune!

With everything finalized and dialed in, numbers were: 288.2AWHP and 297 ft/lb of torque!

Next on the list was Michael’s 07 STi!

They didn’t mind smiling for the camera!

His final numbers: 293.9AWHP and 328.5 ft/lb torque!

Day 4
We had a short day seeing as how Miguel had a flight to catch, and apparently the camera batteries were drained as the chargers weren’t brought in (woops?) so I don’t have any pictures. I do however, have the graph!

That concludes our lovely tuning event! I’d like to thank all the folks who showed up to make this event possible! It would have been nothing without you guys and gals!
Miguel is scheduled to return next month! June 19th-22nd! I am currently taking appointments!

Hey Folks!
Miguel has arrived and Day1 of 4 was a complete success!
We started the day off taking care of Joseph’s Gold Wide-Body WRX. We tried to tune her last time, but there was a solenoid issue in the boost controller. So now that we’ve taken care of that problem, it’s back on the dyno for some real numbers! Miguel did not disappoint, as she’s running 19PSi at 335AWHP!

Next came along Ryan’s WRX. Who needs a front bumper these days?

With a fresh set of spark plugs installed while Joseph’s car was on the dyno, Ryan was all set! But wait! Turns out his turbo inlet pipe had a nice sized hole in so it needed a quick fixin’! Luckily, here at EDO Performance, we don’t just work on cars, we stock a ton of parts! Ryan opted for the APS Turbo Inlet Pipe and 3 hours later, his car was back and ready for the dyno! Pushing out 268AWHP, this WRX sounded beastly!
Next in line was Kyle and his 2005 STi! With a 3-inch Turboback, intake, and a fresh set of newly installed 650cc injectors, his STi rocked out 311AWHP!

Don’t mind the Del Taco, we got hungry!
I’ll have video after the entire weekend is finished! Pictures do some justice, but hearing these babies is a whole new story!
I’ll have a recap of Day 2, so stay tuned!

Tomei Powered USA is proud to announce the release of their ARMS-M7760 Bolt-On Turbocharger for the EJ25!
Tomei has done some serious testing on this guy for quite some time now, and now, here at EDO Performance, we will be conducting our very own tests of this turbo on our own cars! Of course, the necessary steps to prepping the test vehicle has to be done. We have already selected our candidate and will be performing the pre-runs, installation, post-run, and tune all within this week!
You can count on yours truly to deliver the up-to-the-minute scoop and details of the installation. But hey, how about some more pictures of the beauty?

Things to look forward to:
- Side by Side comparison of a stock STi turbo to the Tomei ARMS M7760
- Dyno tune results of Tomei ARMS M7760 turbo (with supporting mods)
- Initial impressions from STi owner, Greg Wiist
- In car video
- TONS of pictures!
Needless to say, I’m going to have my hands full. Stay tuned!

Tomei’s newest addition to the ever so popular “Expreme” line- up is their equal length exhaust manifold for the EJ25! The 4-2-1 piping layout helps extract the absolute maximum power from your single scroll turbine. Exhaust gas pressure is best controlled with the equal length design, ensuring that power loss through the higher RPM is minimal.

Installation on a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi

Take this installation just as you would any other exhaust manifold installation. No additional oil pan is required for this installation as you’ll simply remove your stock manifold, and bolt on the Tomei Expreme Equal Length Exhaust Manifold! Of course, you might want to wrap the manifold to try and retain as much heat as you can in the manifold, and to avoid spreading the heat to the oil pan.
Installation on a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX (2.0L)
WRX Owners should not fear, as it IS possible to install this particular exhaust manifold on your vehicle, just as long as you have the right parts. Luckily for you all, we already did the work for you so we know exactly what you’ll need: an oil pan off of the EJ25. A quick phone call to Ferdie@SouthCoastPerformance and an oil pan was en route to the shop!

As you can see, the EJ20 Oil Pan is blocky and doesn’t have the clearance needed to fit the piping design of the equal length manifold. Purchasing and installing the oil pan from the EJ25 will quickly solve that issue as it has a “dent” to clear for the piping design.

Initial Start-Up
I started the STi right after the installation, things have already cooled down so I could technically call this a cold-start. I noticed that the exhaust note was a bit deeper than normal. As the car warmed up a bit, the car seemed to have quieted down back to “normal.” That lovely Subaru “boxer rumble” can still be heard, and fades away as you step on the gas to rev the engine. But that sound is replaced with a more refined, race-car like exhaust note.
Driving Impressions
After a quick drive around the block to make sure things were all good to go, you’ll quickly notice the torque is spread across the entire RPM range. Normally, you’ll feel it all at one shot, but now it starts and power does not fade. Now, this is all according to the famous “Butt-Dyno”, but the car will be tuned and the results will be posted so you all can get a more accurate gain.
Now personally, I don’t miss the rumble as much as I said I would. I still hear it. The feel of the car now makes up for the loss in sound. I have no complaints by it whatsoever!
The Tomei Expreme Equal Length Exhaust Manifold is now available for purchase on our website! Click here.
