ＲＥＰＯＲＴ
Date : 18/4 – 19/6/2011 GT-Rd.3/ Sepang Circuit
Attendance: 36,000 Rank/1st place

The 3rd round of GT Race was done on June 19th in a scorching country, Malaysia. Our HATSUNEMIKU BMW Z34 got 5th place in Fuji, 4th place in Okayama and we were faced weight 28kg in the 4th ranking place with total 14 points. At first, I thought our ‘straight line Banchou BMW 34’ cannot give well performance in Sepang Circuit because Sepang Circuit is well known as Cornering Circuit.

Meanwhile, from driving test on Saturday morning, it was against my expectations after we got the best time of it. On preliminary round in the evening, we got pole position. It’s so unbelievable. I think the small troubles that occurred last time did not occurred for this time and Yokohama Tire offers great tires are the main factors for this achievement. After winning the class position, I really wanted to win today.

Maybe the power of HATSUNEMIKU BMW Z34 is number one but the downforce is less and the tire size is narrow. So, compared to other cars, the tire condition is so strict. Therefore, the energetically tire is good, but the tire’s ‘tare’ is needed the most attention.
In the final round, I am the start driver. From the start, run and run until I managed to built 15 seconds margin and finally baton touch to my partner. On the second half of race, just 5 laps remain, Ferrari 458 which running in the second place was chase after us. Finally, we were able to win the championship as my partner success to run by the difference for 0.7 seconds.

I am very happy and glad because I have been able to contribute to the team as this is the first victory for Good Smile Racing Team for GT. As a result, with 5th place, 4th place and 1st place, our ranking has gone up to the 2nd place.

This year also, we aim to conquest 3 categories – ST, S and Civic Inter.

Racing Driver
Nobuteru Taniguchi

In a blink of an eye, 2011 D1 grand-prix has gone to 2 part of it. During the last race at the Suzuka circuit, we have finally managed to get point from free solo run and in final round when our newly built RX-8 machine driven by our M.Suenaga driver, thus, the driver, the team improve to no. 18 overall.
In this season, we start from no 24, and then won, improved to best 16 and we could say that this is quite a big achievement with our new machine.
After that, the stage taken to Odaiba, Tokyo for 2 consecutive round, and we manage to excel to best 8 for the first day with such a brilliant match. Therefore, the team improves to no. 13 overall.
With such a new machine, and many unknown part, the team improves as the race goes on.
The 5th round is in Okayama International Circuit.
After 2 consecutive round in Odaiba finished, M.Suenaga driver said that “after all these years, I`m not that good in Okayama. But, RX-7 has changed to RX-8, maybe there`ll be change and let’s see it.”
As the race goes on, we are still collecting data and hope for a great battle in the near future.

We’re fortunate to be in Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia to witness the first driving impression of M7 R600 tuned-up 2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R R35. Sepang International Circuit is F1 circuit is known for its sweeping corners and wide straights and its unusual layout that has a very long back straight separated from the pit straight by one very tight hairpin. Driving the GT-R R600 was no other than Nobuteru Taniguchi. The name that’s synonymous with top race car driver. There was no one better to test drive the M7 R600 tuned GT-R.

Besides M7 Bride seat, carbon fiber front under lip, side-skirt, rear under spoiler, the GT-R looked and sounded factory. Under the frame, the GT-R had M7 Titan muffler which featured Titanium burnt tip appearance coupled by M7 high-flow center pipe to soothe the exhaust bottleneck. Under the hood, the GT-R still owner still kept the car in fairly low profile with M7 power flow filter, hyper sound blow-off valve, M7 actuator and M7 camshaft. Lubricating the twin-turbo engine was M7 1000HP Pro Racing oil with the M7 GT magnet type oil filter. As the GT-R is pushing 613HP with the tune from M7, cooling and stopping the 3800 lbs machine is essential. Cooling the VR38DETT engine is M7 super cooling radiator coolant, M7 oil catch can and M7 competition type-R intercooler kit. Stopping the GT-R is M7 7000C brake pads made for brembo caliper with the M7 Super B5 brake fluids. Handling the power from the engine is the M7 high-performance damper kit.

Besides sporting M7 Bride seats signed by Taniguchi, the GT-R had the M7 super throttle controller and Electronic Boost Controller (E-BC) inside the cabin. As far as engine dress-up, the GT-R puts on M7 engine oil cap and radiator cap.

The R600 GT-R puts almost 613 HP and 672 Nm (Approximately 495 ft/lbs) of torque on the dyno and it was time to test the GT-R on one of the most difficult track in the world. In no time Taniguchi had disappeared into the track and completed 3 full laps.

2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R factory power and torque rating is 480HP and 430 ft/lbs respectively. To achieve gain of almost 133 HP from virtually camshaft replacement, intercooler upgrade and ECU tuning is remarkable. It’s without question that this upgrade still maintained the GT-R daily drive-ability for daily driver customers and the M7 high flow muffler sounded like factory exhaust.
